Let's create a gingerbread house that not only looks beautiful but also serves as a long-lasting decorative piece at home throughout the year!

Keep the Christmas spirit and joy alive with a Gingerbread House made from recycled materials!

What do you need?

THE BASICS...

  • Empty and clean milk carton boxes
  • Scrap paper/magazine/newspapers
  • Glue
  • Paints, markers and paint brushes

FOR AN EXTRA DOSE OF CHRISTMAS CHEER

  • Glitter glue
  • Cotton wool (to represent snow, of course!)
  • Felt and craft materials like buttons, sequins, etc.

Let's get started!

Step 1:

Wrap the carton boxes with scrap paper/magazines/newspapers. Use adhesive tape or glue to ensure they adhere to the surface of the carton boxes.

Step 2:

Paint and decorate your wrapped carton boxes to transform them into gingerbread houses!
(You may want to browse some websites or books for inspiration.)

Step 3:

Once the paint dries, use craft materials to embellish your very own gingerbread house.

Ideas for more fun and creativity...

  • Create multiple gingerbread houses by collecting and using cartons of various sizes!
  • Construct your own community of gingerbread houses for imaginative play (or place them as a centerpiece in front of the Christmas tree for an extra surprise for Santa when he visits!)
